Item Title
C-23 Additive Change Order #2 for OakLeaf High School

Issue/Rationale

Change Orders are initiated by the Contractor, Architect/Engineer or Owner, and may increase or decrease the scope of the project as defined by the plans and specifications.  Once a Change Order is initiated, review/evaluation is undertaken to determine the merit and/or requirement of the Change Order.  Change Orders are reviewed by the Architect/Engineer and staff prior to submission to the School Board for approval.  The additive changes are required to complete the one hour rated roof assembly on buildings 3, 4, and 5 in accordance with Underwriters Laboratory Assembly P-521 to meet building and fire codes.



Recommended Action
Approve the Change Order.

Financial Impact
If approved, this Change Order will increase the contract amount by $274,725.58.  The Substantial Completion date is June 1, 2010.  There is no increase in Architect fees as a result of this change order.
